Associate – Consumer & Community Bank Financial Control
As an Associate in the Consumer & Community Bank Financial Control team, you will help ensure the integrity of the firm’s financial information and support key financial control activities.
About the Firm-wide Financial ControllersThe Firm-wide Financial Controllers is a global organization accountable for the integrity of the books and records of the firm. They examine the general ledger, operating systems, and controls across all businesses to ensure accurate financial information for reporting and regulation. Key functions include financial analysis, consolidation, reporting, balance‑sheet reconciliation, general‑ledger reconciliation, intragroup control, and month‑end close execution.
Job Responsibilities- Collaborate with line‑of‑business controllers, product controllers, technology, operations, and legal entity controllers worldwide.
- Manage the consolidation of JPMorgan Chase financial data at month‑end for their asset class, supporting month, quarter, and year‑end activities.
- Control post‑closing entries and perform various control procedures to ensure integrity of reported financial results, including account reconciliation and substantiation.
- Engage in line‑of‑business initiatives and projects, act as the financial control subject‑matter expert and proactively identify process and infrastructure enhancements.
- Enhance the overall control environment around financial reporting.
- Mobilize change to simplify processes and strengthen controls.
- 5+ years of accounting or industry experience.
- Basic experience with a financial consolidation and reporting system (e.g., SAP interface).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or equivalent experience).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive change.
MBA or CPA preferred.
