Overview

Christiana Care is looking for a Medical Assistant I for our Uro Gyn office in Newark, DE. Urogynecology is a specialized field focused on diagnosing and treating pelvic floor disorders affecting the bladder, uterus, vagina, and rectum. Our board‑certified physicians—the only urogynecologists in Delaware certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery—provide comprehensive care using physical therapy, medications, and surgical options ranging from minimally invasive to complex procedures.

Patients may also have access to clinical research trials and innovative treatments.

Urogynecology | Christiana Care

• Monday-Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm

• As a Medical Assistant I, you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments.
• Greet and assist patients virtually and on-site, room patients, and prepare them for visits by taking and recording vital signs.
• Perform point-of-care testing, administer injections and medications, and conduct EKGs when needed.
• Support clinicians during examinations and procedures, prepare treatment rooms with essential supplies, and complete patient-specific paperwork.
• Ensure electronic medical records (EMR) are up to date with relevant test results for subsequent visits.
• Handle patient callbacks with information as directed by providers and follow state guidelines for sterilization of medical equipment.
• Manage prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills; schedule tests and surgeries; and perform quality control on point-of-care testing equipment.
• Offer documentation assistance during provider examinations and procedures, undertake clerical tasks as assigned, troubleshoot issues with video visits, and help patients utilize Christiana Care’s Patient Portal.
• Adhere to safety rules, work safely, and promptly report any unsafe conditions or violations that could harm patients, staff, or visitors.

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

• Excellent attention to detail, dependability, strong communication skills, integrity, and technical skills.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.10 - $27.69

This pay rate/range represents Christiana Care’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including, without limitation, skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
