Laboratory Assistant

Shift: Monday–Friday, start as early as 7/8/9 AM

Under the supervision of Lab Management or a Lead Technologist, the Laboratory Technician will provide hands‑on support to daily laboratory operations in an educational setting. The role includes learning and performing laboratory functions in compliance with GMP regulations (21 CFR Parts 210/211) and ISO 17025 guidelines.

• Learn and maintain working knowledge of the Quality System and Laboratory Information System (LIMS).
• Support the daily operation of a microbiological testing laboratory, including:
  • Receiving, unpacking, and organizing customer samples for processing
  • Preparing customer returns for processing
  • Discarding samples under supervision
  • Cleaning laboratory equipment on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Assisting with laboratory inventory and restocking consumables
  • Proper disposal of microbial cultures, chemicals, sharps, glass, and recyclables
  • Comply with all laboratory safety procedures, manuals, SOPs, and MSDS/SDS guidelines
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

• Education: High school diploma or Associate degree in Microbiology or a related discipline
• Experience: 0–2 years in a laboratory setting; equivalent education/experience combination considered

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail

• Regularly standing, walking, and using hands/arms to operate laboratory tools and equipment
• Frequent communication with team members
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision

• General office and laboratory conditions; generally quiet
• Use of protective clothing (lab coat, gloves, closed‑toe shoes) required in lab areas
