Compensation details:

• $1.50 /hr differential on weekends
• Monthly performance bonuses
• Sign‑on bonus $2,500 paid in three installments over the first year of employment

Schedule (Varies by day):

• Monday 6:30 AM – 8:00 PM
• Tuesday 6:30 AM – 8:00 PM
• Wednesday 6:30 AM – 8:00 PM
• Thursday 6:30 AM – 8:00 PM
• Friday 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM (rotating)
• Saturday 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM (rotating)
• Sunday closed

• Perform whole blood collection procedures and allied activities in accordance with BBD guidelines.
• Prepare donor interview and blood collection by ensuring interview materials and phlebotomy equipment are set up and operable to QC standards.
• Conduct donor interviews confidentially to determine donor eligibility.
• Initiate and monitor whole blood procedures, ensuring unit weight standards and prompt response to adverse reactions.
• Perform post‑draw activities including cleaning equipment, restocking supplies, and storing supplies in a controlled area.
• Support miscellaneous duties such as recruiting and scheduling automated donor appointments, biohazard cleanup, dating supplies, restocking, recovery room duty, posting phlebotomy and screening results, and directing donors to the canteen.
• Activate donors in the BBCS system and provide required educational materials.
• Assist with mobile blood drives and fixed sites as needed.

• Represent the Blood Bank effectively during severe weather or emergency operations.

• Valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of face‑to‑face customer service experience.
• Minimum one year successfully managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

The position involves a 6‑8 week paid training program, the first 3‑4 weeks of which are classroom training at the Christiana Donor Center/HQ in Newark, DE.
