Job Summary
The Revenue Cycle Consultant supervises and leads the Revenue Cycle Team. This includes training and evaluation of staff; AR management; claims production; billing system setup, coding, chart documentation practices, patient experience, optimizes revenues and maximizes reimbursement for patient services by analyzing billing, coding, reimbursement, charge posting and charting procedures. Reporting and analytics will be performed as needed.
Job Duties- Mentors team members
- Manages, coordinates, and delegates the activities of team members.
- Identifies and implements training as needed.
- Performs annual performance reviews.
- Utilizes software applications and information systems to perform and oversee work processes.
- Supports clients onsite and virtually, in Revenue Cycle activities
- Prepares dashboards for use to AMPLIFII and client leadership
- Creates documentation or provides input on departmental needs, procedures, processes, and training.
- Establishes consistent methods for reviewing the quality/quantity of employees' work.
- Performs and documents audits of individual employee work.
- Identify problems and opportunities for improvement; develop appropriate solutions by involving others in the resolution and implementation process.
- Promotes positive interpersonal relationships with physicians and other staff members.
- High School diploma, or equivalent, required.
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
- 3+ years of patient financial services experience in an FQHC, preferred.
- 1+ years of supervisory experience in a healthcare revenue cycle setting, required.
- Knowledge of medical practice protocols related to revenue cycle management.
- Knowledge and understanding of insurance benefit plans and explanation of benefits.
- Current knowledge of regulatory requirements and codes.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to efficiently use various software applications and information systems to perform work processes.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask effectively and interact with team and other staff professionally.
- Ability to analyze situations and respond appropriately.
Standard office equipment with emphasis on computer hardware and software as well as telephone, scanners, printers.
Work Environment- Position is performed in a hybrid environment.
- Must be willing to travel up to .5 FTE.
Mostly sedentary with some standing, walking, reaching.
