Licensed Dietitian Opportunity
This part-time position offers daytime hours. Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.
Position Summary:
In this rewarding role, you will assess the nutritional status and provide individualized nutrition care plans and education specific to patient needs.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze medical records and/or patient face-to-face interview for hospitalized patients utilizing specialized knowledge and skills.
- Document findings, actions and summary assessments while following up on diet instructions and comprehension in DCH electronic medical record system.
- Educate and counsel patients of all ages including caregivers on modifications of diet required for continued recovery.
- Review and modify patient room service meal selections as needed being sure to communicate with Food and Nutrition Departments and providers.
- Attend interdisciplinary team patient rounds.
- Provides information to the medical team, including doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and pharmacists.
- Must be available when needed to perform assessment and document individualized care plans using remote computer access during off hours.

Qualifications Requirements:
- Must be a licensed dietitian in the State of Delaware.
- Certified diabetes educator preferred.
- Two (2) years of related experience, at least one (1) year of clinical setting experience preferred.
- CPR certification and completion of Handle with Care training within 90 days of employment.
