Insurance Account Representative

Commercial Insurance Associates is looking for an insurance professional with prior office, customer service, or account servicing experience to join our Newark, Delaware insurance office.

We are open to a wide range of insurance backgrounds. Your previous title does not matter. Candidates may have worked as an Insurance Account Representative, CSR, Account Manager, Account Executive, Client Service Representative, Customer Relations Representative, Producer Assistant, or similar insurance office role.

If you already understand the insurance industry and enjoy working with clients, we can train you on our agency’s specific systems, carriers, and procedures.

This position focuses on client service and account support for our personal and commercial insurance customers. Your exact responsibilities will depend on your previous experience and skill level.

• Assist clients with coverage questions, policy changes, billing, and general service requests
• Service existing personal and commercial insurance accounts
• Process endorsements, renewals, certificates, cancellations, and other policy transactions
• Quote new and existing business with multiple insurance carriers
• Gather information and prepare insurance applications and carrier submissions
• Communicate with insurance companies and underwriters
• Follow up on renewals and help support client retention
• Maintain accurate account information in our agency management system
• Assist clients by phone, email, text, and in person
• Identify opportunities to improve coverage or add additional policies
• Work closely with Account Managers, producers, and other members of our service team

The most important thing to us is that you have previous experience working in the insurance industry.

We will consider candidates from an independent agency, captive agency, brokerage, insurance carrier, benefits office, or other insurance-related office environment.

Property & Casualty experience is preferred, but not required. An active P&C license is also preferred, but we will consider experienced insurance professionals who are not currently licensed.

This is an in-office position based in Newark, Delaware.

Our Newark location works with businesses throughout New Castle County and the surrounding Delaware region, including Wilmington, Middletown, Bear, Hockessin, and nearby communities in northern Delaware and Cecil County, Maryland.
