Position: Vice President, Product, Design, & Delivery

Vice President, Product, Design, & Delivery

As VP, you will lead product, design, and delivery for our Private Student Lending business, steering strategy, operations, and success across the organization.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as the Profit & Loss steward for the lending business across all product lines.
  • Direct day-to-day business management across Product, Client Experience, Marketing, Operations, Technologies, Legal, Risk, Controls, Compliance, and Finance.
  • Own Product Development & Delivery for Private Student Lending and Retail Deposits, leading Agile Product Teams, Program / Initiative Management, and Quality Assurance / UAT.
  • Lead Design teams for web, partner and marketing collateral, application, servicing, and call center agent experiences.
  • Prepare and deliver Business Performance updates across multiple senior forums.
  • Maintain a strong Controls environment with oversight of exceptions monitoring and ensuring accuracy in pricing and disclosure management; serve as the business lead for Audit and Regulatory inquiries.
  • Hire, coach, mentor, and develop junior talent on the team and across the organization.
  • Stay aware of industry and competitive trends and formulate prudent actions for Sallie Mae.
What You’ll Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in Financial Services, with a proven track record of leading product teams and driving business transformation.
  • Proven experience setting business & product direction, go‑to‑market strategy, and design with data‑driven decisions within an Agile Product environment.
  • Superior business and financial acumen with the ability to think end‑to‑end across multiple functional areas.
  • Dynamic people leader, able to guide, develop, and motivate a broad audience of direct and indirect reports.
  • Experience in managing business controls and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements.
  • Ability to form and influence relationships across a matrix organization and gain buy‑in to drive toward an aligned direction.
  • Intellectual curiosity with the ability to learn fast and drive results in the right way.
  • Ability to operate independently and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong attention to detail but can also elevate up and see the big picture.
