At Christiana Care, Environmental Services is about more than maintaining clean spaces, it's about creating safe healing environments for every patient, every family, and every caregiver. We're seeking an innovative Environmental Services Training Manager
to build and lead a comprehensive training and workforce development program that strengthens caregiver engagement, advances operational excellence, and enhances the patient experience across our health system.

This newly created leadership role offers the opportunity to transition from the day-to-day demands of operations into a strategic position focused on workforce development, innovative learning, and organizational performance.

What Success Looks Like

In your first year, you'll help:

  • Strengthen first-year caregiver retention through exceptional onboarding and professional development.
  • Create a standardized, engaging onboarding experience that prepares caregivers for long-term success.
  • Improve Environmental Services inspection performance through education, coaching, and competency validation.
  • Develop innovative digital learning resources that support caregivers across multiple campuses.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Why This Opportunity Is Different

This role allows you to focus on what many Environmental Services leaders enjoy most; developing people.

You'll have the opportunity to:
  • Build a system-wide training program that influences caregivers across one of the region's leading health systems.
  • Create instructor-led, simulation-based, and digital learning experiences that improve performance and patient care.
  • Partner with leaders across Environmental Services, Infection Prevention, Nursing, Quality, and Facilities to support organizational excellence.
  • Help shape the future of Environmental Services education while growing within an organization committed to investing in its caregivers.
What You'll Do

You'll lead the development and delivery of Environmental Services education by:

  • Designing and implementing onboarding, orientation, and ongoing professional development programs.
  • Creating engaging digital learning content, including e-learning modules and educational resources.
  • Delivering instructor-led, simulation-based, and hands-on training that builds caregiver confidence and competency.
  • Standardizing training, competencies, and educational materials across the health system.
  • Utilizing data, inspection results, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Managing Environmental Services education within the Learning Management System (LMS) while serving as a trusted coach and subject matter expert.
What You'll Bring

We're seeking an engaging, collaborative leader who combines Environmental Services expertise with a passion for developing others.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Progressive Environmental Services leadership experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.
  • Experience designing and delivering instructor-led and digital learning programs.
  • Experience creating e-learning content and utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Knowledge of Environmental Services operations, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.
  • Experience leading onboarding, coaching, competency validation, or workforce development initiatives.
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and change management abilities.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Education, Environmental Services, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
Why Christiana Care?

When you join Christiana Care, you'll help build something meaningful from the ground up. Your work will strengthen caregiver engagement and retention, improve operational performance, and directly contribute to safer environments and exceptional experiences for the patients and communities we serve.
