Registered Nurse (RN) - 6B Medical Unit

7a-7p) Weekends & Holidays per department guidelines.

Christiana Care Hospital is seeking an experienced RN to work on the 6B Medical Unit. This role uses a relationship-based care model, guiding practice by our values of love and excellence.

6B is a 40-bed medical inpatient unit providing acute medical care on a 24-hour basis. The unit cares for adults 18+ with a variety of diagnoses, including pneumonia, syncope, diabetes management, COPD, and altered mental status. Patients are admitted from the emergency department, ICU, step-down, home, and doctors  offices.

• Provide direct patient care on the 6B Medical Unit in accordance with nursing standards and hospital policies.
• Engage in relationship-based care with patients, families, and the care team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure patient safety.
• Monitor and document patient status, administer medications, and respond to changes in condition.
• Support continuity of care during admissions, transfers, and discharges.

• RN License in Delaware or a Compact State
• BSN preferred or committed to acquiring BSN within 3 years of hire date
• Must have at least one year of med/surg experience as an RN
• BLS required

• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, twist, handle, stoop, bend, climb as per practice area-based Physical Demands Checklist
• Frequent exposure to biological elements with occasional exposure to chemical and environmental elements

• Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 - $66.05

Education & Experience: RN license, BSN preferred or in progress, 1 year med/surg RN experience, BLS required.
