Nurse Manager – Spine & Surgical Unit (7E)

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to provide 24/7 leadership and oversight for our Spine & Surgical Unit (7E), an ANCC Magnet®-designated surgical inpatient unit known for exceptional patient outcomes.
About the Role
The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and a supportive work environment that promotes professional growth and collaboration. This is a key leadership position with direct impact on performance, engagement, and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for nursing staff, fostering excellence in clinical practice and patient care delivery.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource management to ensure safe, effective coverage.
- Create and sustain a positive, collaborative team culture grounded in Magnet principles and continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and evidence-based best practices.
- Support professional development through coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams to advance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of the unit budget in collaboration with the Director/VP of Patient Care Services.
- Facilitates cooperative and collaborative relationships among departments to ensure effective value and quality patient care delivery.
- Demonstrates and promotes positive interpersonal communication skills all the time.
- Maintains a cooperative and collaborative working relationship with unit based Medical Director.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Current RN licensure in Delaware or eligible compact state.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- BSN and Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree plus a Master of Science in Nursing.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant clinical and leadership experience in an inpatient hospital setting.
- Professional certification in a related nursing specialty required;
Nurse Executive certification strongly preferred. - BLS certification required.
