Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology – Christiana Care, Newark, DE
Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, DE is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our 6E Oncology Unit, working 40 hours. The unit is a 38-bed inpatient hematology and oncology unit located on the 6th floor of the Christiana Care Newark campus. Oncology nurses provide relationship-based care, fostering connections with patients, families, and colleagues, guided by our values of love and excellence.
ShiftTimes
FT Day or Evening Shifts (8-hour shifts: 7 AM to 3 PM for days, 3 PM to 11 PM for evenings, or 12-hour Day shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM). Weekend and holiday requirements will follow departmental guidelines.
Scope of Services- Cancer diagnoses
- Chemotherapy administration
- Medical management of febrile neutropenia
- Uncontrolled pain, nausea, and vomiting
- Emergency care and procedures around the clock
- Admitting, transferring, or receiving patients from home, ED, physicians’ offices, and other units
Engage patients in a relationship-based care model.
- Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, both stable and serious.
- Administer chemotherapy and manage symptoms related to treatment.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and family to support patient care.
- DE RN License or Compact RN License.
- BSN or commitment to obtain BSN within three years of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Registered Nurse with 1-2 years of experience in med/surg preferred.
- Oncology certification preferred.
