Job DescriptionJob Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). This role involves providing specialized nursing care to critically ill surgical patients, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver direct patient care in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, including assessment, monitoring, and treatment.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced interventions as prescribed.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to acute changes in condition.
- Assist physicians during surgical recovery and critical procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and interventions.
- Educate patients and families on surgical recovery and ongoing care needs.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety protocols.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in critical care or surgical intensive care nursing.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, critical care protocols, and patient safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Prior experience in a surgical ICU or trauma center.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record system.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACL) certification (required).
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification (preferred).
