Registered Nurse (RN) – 6B Medical Unit Night Shift (

Christiana Care Hospital is seeking an RN to join our 6B Medical Unit in Newark, DE. The shift schedule is three 12‑hour shifts per week, including weekends and holidays per department guidelines.
About the UnitThe 6B unit is an inpatient unit designed for 40 patients requiring acute and/or chronic medical services. It addresses a variety of diagnoses and testing, including pneumonia, syncope, diabetes management, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and altered mental status. Patients are adults aged 18plus. Admission sources include the emergency department, ICU, step‑down unit, home, and doctors’ offices. Staffing: RNs have 5‑6 patients;
the charge nurse assigns daily assignments based on each patient’s diagnosis, condition, acuity, age, developmental level, and staff qualifications.
As a medical nurse, you will implement a relationship‑based care model, building connections with patients, their families, and colleagues, guided by our values of love and excellence.
Qualifications- RN license in Delaware or a Compact State.
- BSN preferred, or committed to obtaining a BSN within 3years of hire.
- Minimum one year of med/surg experience as an RN.
- BLS certification required.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, twist, handle, stoop, bend, and climb as per the practice‑area based Physical Demands Checklist.
Frequent exposure to biological elements with occasional exposure to chemical and environmental elements, as per the practice‑area based Physical Demands Checklist.
Pay RangeHourly pay range: $41.28 – $66.05. The actual salary within this range will depend on individual factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements.
