Registered Nurse; RN - Night Shift - Part time DTransitional Medical; Stepdo

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 18 hours per week on the Night Shift at our Christiana Hospital on the 3D Transitional Stepdown Unit. Weekend and Holidays per the guidelines of the department.

• Utilize critical thinking and clinical expertise to assess, plan, and deliver individualized care to an adult patient population with a respiratory focus.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary team including nursing, social work, pharmacy, respiratory therapist, hospitalists, and consultants such as pulmonologists, nephrologists, cardiologists, and infectious disease specialists.
• Provide care for a range of diagnoses including ventilator‑dependent respiratory failure, COPD, pulmonary hypertension, acute renal failure, GI bleed, DKA, sepsis, and many others.
• Engage in ventilator management, tracheostomy care, suctioning, wound care, and related procedures.
• Deliver patient‑ and family‑centered care, ensuring comfort and positive outcomes and providing education related to medications and disease process.
• Monitor patients closely and manage any emergencies that may arise; upon stabilization, assist in transition of patients to the appropriate level of care.
• Assist in managing 3‑4 patients per assignment.

• BSN required. ADNs who commit to obtaining BSN within three years of hire may be considered with relevant experience.
• Minimum one year experience in acute care or sub‑acute care.
• Preferred experience:
  
  pulmonary, medical‑surgical, geriatric, progressive care, or critical care nursing.
• BSL required.
• Strong communication and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work effectively and professionally with an interdisciplinary team and peers.
