Stepdown Unit - Registered Nurse; RN All Shifts

Overview

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full‑time, 36‑hour per week position on the 4C Medical Stepdown Unit at Christiana Hospital. This unit provides medical intermediate care to a complex adult patient population.

• Provide patient care to a 4–5 patient assignment on the 4C unit.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes Patient Care Technicians, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, and other medical professionals.
• Engage patients and families in a relationship‑based care model guided by the organization’s values of love and excellence.
• Support independence in nursing practice during and after orientation, including encouragement of board certification in Medical‑Surgical, Geriatric, or Progressive Care Nursing.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; ADN candidates must commit to obtaining a BSN within three years of hire.
• At least one year of nursing experience, with preference for acute or sub‑acute care experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, and patient advocacy skills.
• Collaborative approach, compassion, and a commitment to patient care.

Hourly pay range: $41.28–$66.05. The actual rate will be determined by individual qualifications and experience.
