Christiana Care Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 6B Medical Unit. The selected candidate will work three 12-hour shifts each week.
Unit6B is an inpatient unit designed to accommodate 40 patients who need acute and/or chronic medical services. The scope of services on 6B encompasses a variety of diagnoses and testing, including pneumonia, syncope, diabetes management, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and altered mental status. Patients are adults aged 18 years and older and are typically in good to fair condition. Patients are received, transferred, and admitted from the emergency department, ICU, step-down unit, home, and doctors’ offices.
StaffingRNs have 5‑6 patients. The charge nurse is responsible for daily assignments, considering each patient’s diagnosis, condition, acuity, age, developmental level, and the qualifications of the staff. As a medical nurse, you will implement a relationship‑based care model, fostering connections with patients, their families, and colleagues, guided by our values of love and excellence.

Hours:
7 pm – 7 am), including weekends and holidays as per department guidelines. Newark, DE. The role requires three 12‑hour shifts per week.
- RN license in Delaware or a Compact State
- BSN preferred or commitment to acquire BSN within 3 years of hire date
- At least three years of med/surg experience as an RN
- BLS required
Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, twist, handle, stoop, and climb as required by practice area‑based Physical Demands Checklist.
Working ConditionsFrequent exposure to biological elements with occasional exposure to chemical and environmental elements, as per the practice area‑based Physical Demands Checklist.
Hourly Pay Range$41.28 – $66.05 per hour. This range represents Christiana Care’s good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on the candidate’s skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to the specific job requirements.
