Overview
The Christiana Care Nurse Residency Program is an accredited Practice Transition Program that supports registered nurses with less than one year of experience in both the Newark and Wilmington campuses.
Program StructureThe curriculum integrates lecture and simulation education, peer support, and up to 16 weeks of preceptor‑led clinical experiences designed to foster critical thinking, evidence‑based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, effective communication, quality and safety, and professional development. The program continues with residency meetings at months 8, 10, and 12 to further develop participants as professional nurses and integral members of the caregiver team.

- Graduation from an accredited registered nursing school (BSN preferred)
- BLS certification required
- Less than 12 months of nursing experience by the start of the program
- Eligibility for a Delaware RN license or a multi‑state RN from a compact state
This is a flat rate position; the base rate is $38.61 per hour plus any applicable differentials. The actual salary will be determined based on individual qualifications and experience.
