This position is a casual maintenance landscaping role. Most job responsibilities require little or no previous skills. The position requires basic hand tool and light equipment use, safety compliance, and efficient task completion. Work is focused on the immediate unit with limited awareness of related areas. The primary shift is Monday through Friday 7a‑3p, but schedules may be modified to fit departmental needs, including shift work and weekends.
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. This casual position is part‑time with no guaranteed minimum hours or assignments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs routine maintenance duties based on specific requests and helps complete work plans according to deadlines.
- Completes or assists in completing general landscaping and grounds‑keeping tasks and other maintenance duties as assigned.
- Provides the highest level of customer service and professionalism to all internal and external customers.
- Ability to read work orders; effective oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of relevant Authority policies, procedures and safety techniques.
- Within a reasonable time period, gains basic competence in all required equipment and assigned work.
- Ability to learn and use small power equipment safely and efficiently.
- Basic competence in all required equipment and in assigned work.
- Ability to provide superior customer service to everyone.
- Landscaping and Grounds Keeping
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent or related experience
- Previous landscaping/grounds keeping experience
- Subject to a pre‑employment physical and drug testing
- Delaware River and Bay Authority requires all employees to have direct deposit with a financial institution or enroll in the payroll card program to receive bi‑weekly pay
