Veterinary Assistant - Internal Medicine

Position Overview

Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is hiring a detail-oriented, multitasking, team-focused Veterinary Assistant for our busy Internal Medicine department.

We are seeking a motivated assistant who possesses the drive to succeed in a busy hospital and has an interest in working in an educational environment. The Internal Medical Service attends to a wide variety of cases and manages complex long-term disease processes. Assistants in this service will assist their team in all medical and endoscopic procedures associated with maintaining and stabilizing their patients.

• Calmly and gently approach and handle patients according to safety protocols and core values
• Identify abnormal pathology
• Understand hospital estimates and clearly present and explain them to clients
• Show patience and empathy to address client concerns
• Educate clients in Internal Medicine and provide exceptional care for patients
• Prepare medications and manage patient/client discharge with concise directions
• Support the Internal Medicine team in all aspects of patient care
