Quality Control Inspector

Location:

Newark, Delaware Pay: $27.00-$31.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule:

Full-Time Available

1st

Shift: 7:30 a.m.

- 4:00 p.m.2nd

Shift: 3:30 p.m.

- 12:00 a.m.2nd Shift Differential:

Position Summary Du Hadaway  Tool and Die Shop is seeking experienced and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspectors to join our ISO 9001-registered Industrial Turbine Component Repair Division. This position is responsible for inspecting turbine components, manufactured parts, and in-process work to verify compliance with engineering drawings, Bills of Material, customer specifications, and established quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect turbine components, manufactured parts, and in-process work for dimensional accuracy and compliance with applicable requirements.

Use precision measuring and inspection equipment, including:

- Height gages

Verniers

Outside and inside micrometers

Thread gages

Depth micrometers

Dial indicators

Bore gages

Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment

Perform first article and in-process inspections on the shop floor.

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), customer specifications, work instructions, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Complete and maintain accurate inspection reports, quality records, and other required documentation.

Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming conditions.

Work closely with Production and other departments to investigate and resolve quality issues.

Support Quality Assurance activities and follow established quality-management procedures.

Verify that inspection equipment is appropriate for the required measurement and within its designated calibration period.

Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, and other material-handling equipment as required.

Handle components carefully to prevent damage during inspection and movement.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies and procedures.

Participate in required training and continuous-improvement activities.

Qualifications Qualified candidates must:

Have a minimum of three to five years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in a manufacturing or machining environment.

Have demonstrated experience accurately using and interpreting measurements from precision inspection  experienced in the setup and use of:

- Height gages

Verniers

Outside and inside micrometers

Thread gages

Depth micrometers

Dial indicators

Bore gages

Be able to accurately read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, Bills of Material, customer specifications, and work instructions.

Have a working knowledge of GD&T fundamentals.

Possess strong mathematical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship and  able to follow established processes, procedures, and written and verbal instructions.

Communicate effectively and work independently or as part of a team.

Have a valid driver's  at least 18 years of age.

Have a high school diploma or GED.Successfully pass a pre-employment physical, lift assessment, and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment.

Experience with the ZEISS CONTURA 2 and CALYPSO operating system.

Experience inspecting industrial turbine components or other large, close-tolerance components.

Experience working in a precision machining, component repair, or refurbishment environment.

Experience working in an ISO 9001 quality environment.

Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.

Ability to safely lift and move materials while performing the physical requirements of the position.

Manual dexterity to safely use precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
