Postdoc positions in computational spectroscopy at University of Delaware (USA)

Two postdoctoral positions in computational vibrational spectroscopy of biological systems are available in the Kananenka group at University of Delaware, USA ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).). Our group focuses on theoretical and computational research at the interface of physics, chemistry, and biology. We are specifically interested in understanding the ion transport, selectivity, and gating mechanisms of ion channels, amyloid aggregation, and the liquid-liquid phase-separation of intrinsically disordered proteins.

The projects will involve molecular dynamics simulations, quantum-chemistry, and vibrational line shape calculations. The work will be performed in a close collaboration with experimental groups. The positions are initially for one year with a possible extension.

Requirements:The candidates must hold or are about to receive a PhD degree in Computational Physics, Chemistry, or Biophysics. Strong background in molecular dynamics simulations of biological systems, quantum chemistry calculations, and programming (at least Python) are essential.

Experience with coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations, enhanced sampling, and machine learning software is a plus. The successful candidate will be creative, ambitious, motivated, and able to work independently.

About University of Delaware:The University of Delaware is an R1 ("very high research activity") university located in Newark, Delaware on the East coast of the US with easy access to major metropolitan areas including Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and New York City as well as Delaware beaches.

Deadline:The positions are available immediately. The search will continue until the positions are filled.

How to Apply
