Job Summary
Materials Characterization Analytical Scientist – Newark, DE
Reports to the Leveraged Analytical Technology Manager. Supports collaborative research projects and business‑critical product/process investigations at the Chemours Discovery Hub.
Responsibilities- Drive creative and integrated analytical solutions for internal and external requestors.
- Participate in experimental design and execution.
- Process, review, and interpret experimental results and optimize methodologies.
- Provide contextual understanding of analytical results using process chemistry knowledge.
- Adapt new methodologies to current projects.
- Safely operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Generate analytical reports to meet R&D needs and product registration requirements.
- Effectively communicate results to the Chemours R&D community.
- Work independently and with cross‑functional teams.
- Formulate work plans and manage/prioritize daily workflow.
- BSc in Chemistry (or closely related field).
- 0–2+ years of experience.
- Experience with general laboratory manipulations, including analytical sample preparation.
- Experience with XRF, TGA, NMR, and FTIR analytical technologies.
- Ability to accomplish tasks independently with minimal guidance.
- Ability to meet challenging deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to safe operations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Graduate degree in Chemistry (or related field).
- 0–2+ years of experience.
- Experience with additional spectroscopic techniques – Raman, UV‑Vis.
- Experience with particle sizing techniques – DLS, MALS.
- Experience with additional thermal and mechanical techniques – DSC, DMA, viscometry.
- Experience with advanced processing and analysis of analytical data, including statistical analysis.
- Data analytics training or equivalent certification.
- Pay Range: $73,947 – $115,542 (local currency).
- Annual bonus target: 6%.
