What You'll Do

As a Cytotechnologist, you will work closely with Pathologists and laboratory professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information that directly impacts patient care.

Responsibilities include:

* Examine gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens according to established laboratory protocols

* Perform microscopic evaluation and interpretation of cytologic specimens

* Participate in fine needle aspiration (FNA) adequacy assessment procedures

* Prepare non-gynecologic specimens using smear, cytocentrifugation, and filtration techniques

* Document findings and maintain required workload and regulatory records

* Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents and staining solutions

* Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities

* Communicate effectively with Pathologists, physicians, nurses, and laboratory colleagues

* Assist with training and mentoring students and new team members

* Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, accreditation, and laboratory safety standards

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or Bachelor's degree in a science discipline with Cytotechnology certification program completion

* CT (ASCP) certification preferred

* One year of Cytology experience

* Experience with fine needle aspiration adequacy assessment

Hourly Pay Range: $38.22 - $61.16

This pay rate/range represents Christiana Care's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
