Associate Scientist

Associate Scientist – Titanium Technologies Ore Technology team, Chemours Discovery Hub, Newark, DE.

In this role, you will improve existing TiO2 manufacturing processes and develop new processes and products.

• Perform assorted tasks in a chemistry lab, including safe handling of hazardous chemicals.
• Solid/liquid separations such as pressure filtration, flocculation, and settling.
• Heat treatments of materials in ovens.
• Titrations and manual or automatic pH and other electrode-based measurements.
• Assemble, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot lab‑scale process equipment for solids, liquids, and slurries experiments.
• Sample preparation and submission to various labs for further testing.
• Manage lab services and operations as required (equipment inspections, certifications, ordering supplies, inventory management).
• Data record‑keeping and organization in accordance with Chemours policies for protection of intellectual property.

• BS/Associate degree in Chemistry, engineering, or related field.
• Hands‑on chemistry or R&D lab experience requiring the safe handling of chemicals.
• Proficiency in the use of computers, Microsoft applications, and related systems and data analysis.

• Experience in safe handling of corrosive chemicals.
• Flexibility and demonstrated ability to prioritize work in a multitasking environment.
• Self‑motivation with a strong sense of ownership; ability to thrive in both independent and team‑oriented environments.
