Processes member purchases in a courteous and friendly manner, including verifying, renewing, upgrading, and offering several types of membership products. Scans merchandise, accepts various forms of payment, provides excellent member service, and maintains the overall cleanliness of the front‑line department.

• Carry out job functions and responsibilities as assigned, supporting the application of club policies, procedures, and compliance.

• Understand all BJ’s Membership options and the importance of renewals and upgrades.
• Offer appropriate membership products, such as renewals, EASY renewal, BJ’s Loyalty programs, and rewards redemption.
• Provide a high level of customer service to members and handle checks, payments, and receipts efficiently.
• Scan club merchandise accurately, ensuring correct inventory counts and purchase totals.
• Assist members at self‑checkout stations and manage self‑checkout lanes.
• Stay updated on promotions, advertisements, and product information, and redeem coupons.
• Maintain cleanliness of the front‑line area and assist in general club housekeeping as needed.
• Return re‑sellable merchandise to the sales floor and manage self‑checkout lanes.
• Meet cashier productivity expectations and maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Basic math skills preferred.
• Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.

• Mainly moving on hard surfaces, with occasional bending, reaching, and stooping.
• Frequently lifting objects up to 30 pounds; may require assistance for heavier objects.
• Indoor environment with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes, loud noises, and cleaning agents.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the starting compensation range for this position is $16.50 per hour. Actual salaries will vary based on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
