Position: AE - Merchandising Team Leader (Assistant Manager)

Overview

As the full-time Merchandising Team Leader, you are the Store Team Leader's go-to in developing and implementing the Merchandising strategy for the store. Your passion lies in training and coaching your team into great merchants delivering AEO brand Visual standards every day. Through your leadership, your team nails floorset execution and rocks merchandising and marketing brand standards. You ensure the store is guest ready through effective replenishment.

Responsibilities
  • You have a passion for driving sales:
    As a key Leader on Duty (LOD), you drive sales by maximizing fitting room and salesfloor productivity and building guest loyalty through a best-in-class guest experience. You contribute to the overall financial success of the store by analyzing reporting and daily trends to inform strategic business decisions. You work with the Store Team Leader to develop short- and long-term plans to drive key KPIs.
  • You are a merchandising innovator:
    You coach your team to deliver an outstanding guest experience while ensuring the store reflects AEO Brand Standards. You lead day-to-day merchandising, stock replenishment, and sell-through adjustments. You identify merchandising opportunities and propose action plans.
  • You are a people leader:
    You motivate and inspire your team through AEO's core values. You model leadership and hold the team accountable to AEO customer service standards on the Sales floor and in the fitting room.
  • You have an eye for talent and a love of training:
    You recruit and develop strong talent to ensure the store is staffed to meet business needs. You train and develop your team to provide outstanding service.
  • You value teamwork and performance feedback:
    You provide ongoing coaching, conduct team touch bases, development plans, and performance reviews. You drive associate engagement by celebrating your team's performance.
  • You are an operational innovator:
    You execute and improve daily operational procedures, maintain visual standards across zones, and ensure fitting rooms are guest-ready and aligned with AEO Brand Standards.
  • Integrity is central:
    You maintain store safety standards, adhere to Asset Protection standards, follow AEO policies and procedures, and do the right thing always.
Qualifications
  • You love AE and Aerie products.
  • You have led teams in a retail management role previously.
  • You can multi-task with strong attention to detail; you excel at priority setting and time management.
  • You know how to lead and develop teams and have a general understanding of employment law.
  • You bring business acumen to the role.
  • You have flexible availability to meet guest needs.
