Deli Clerk

Job Summary

Slices, packages, weighs, and sells various deli products, including meats and cheeses. Maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli, including deli display cases. Provides assistance to members in the deli department.

• Provide high level customer service, answer questions, recommend items, take special orders, slice, package, and weigh deli products, and prepare party trays.
• Receive and inspect shipments; stock, rotate, and store products following food safety, food freshness, and product handling policies.
• Maintain cleaning, sanitizing equipment and keep scale systems accurate.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned, including cross‑department work.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Work experience in a deli department preferred.
• Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products preferred.
• Minimum age 18 years.

Most of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces, lifting up to 30 pounds, and occasionally moving heavy objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance. Work is performed in environments with temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and coolers, with frequent exposure to cleaning agents.

The estimated compensation range for this position starts at $17.25 per hour; actual salaries may vary by location, education, experience, and qualifications.
