Chemours is seeking an Associate Scientist to join our Titanium Technologies Pigment Technology team. This position will be available at the Chemours Discovery Hub in Newark, DE
. This position will report directly to the R&D Staff Supervisor and receive functional guidance from the Particle Characterization Laboratory leads.

The Associate Scientist will support analytical testing and method development for the Particle Characterization Laboratory, assisting all business units at the Discovery Hub with R&D and manufacturing initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Basic laboratory tasks including
  • Safe handling of hazardous chemicals, including acids/bases and solvents
  • Preparing samples (powders, slurries, and dispersions) for analysis
  • Characterising samples using various analytical techniques, including particle size (laser diffraction and disc centrifuge), particle dustiness, and adsorption techniques
  • Assembling, calibrating and troubleshooting equipment when necessary
  • Documenting results and procedures and logging results in online databases
  • Following safety, quality (ISO
    9001), and standard operating procedures
  • Working collaboratively in team environment
Required Qualifications
  • BS degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of experience
Alternate Qualifications
  • High school diploma/General Education Degree (GED) and 10+ years of lab experience
  • Basic computer competency (including Microsoft suite) and communication skills
  • Ability to work in both independent and team‑oriented environments
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and methods when required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in analytical laboratory environment
  • Experience in particle sizing methods
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Excel
