Chemours is seeking a
** Laboratory Technician
** to join our growing Advanced Performance Materials team! This position will report directly to the Global Technology Manager, TeflonTM PTFE at our
** Newark, DE
** location.

This key role is responsible for operation of the battery laboratory equipment and materials processing.
** The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
*** Lab and pilot scale operation of handling, weighing, mixing, and processing of various chemicals.
* Perform activities including assembling, monitoring & basic analysis of electrochemical devices such as lithium ion battery cells
* Safe execution of lab work of wet chemistry experiments using corrosive, toxic, and flammable chemicals.
* Documenting and auditing specific operating, safety, and environmental requirements.
* Troubleshooting mechanical processes, controls, analytical, or laboratory issues.
** The following is
* required* for this role:
*** High school diploma or GED equivalent
* 1 - 2 years of laboratory experience preferably in chemistry
* Fine motor skills to perform small, delicate & detailed tasks
* Excellent record keeping and notebook skills are required
* Ability to read and understand complex Standard Operating Procedures
* Self-motivation, able to work independently to complete given tasks
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications with a focus on data entry, such as Word, Excel, Share Point
* Ability to wear an air-line respirator, work in close quarters, and climb ladders/steps donned in full PPE
* Ability to lift 45 lbs. and move drums/containers using correct ergonomic methods
* Ability to perform duties that may require long periods of standing
** The following is
* preferred* for this role:
*** Familiarity with using glove box, electrochemical devices
* Associates degree or higher in electrochemistry or chemistry, or 3+ years related industrial experience
