About the Role:
The HVAC Field Service Supervisor/Trainer plays a critical role in overseeing and enhancing the performance of field service technicians within the HVAC industry. This position is responsible for ensuring that all service operations are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards and company policies. The role involves providing hands‑on training and continuous professional development to technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and customer satisfaction.
The supervisor/trainer will also coordinate service schedules, troubleshoot complex HVAC issues, and serve as a key liaison between field teams and management. Ultimately, this position aims to elevate service quality, improve team productivity, and support the growth and expertise of the HVAC service workforce across the United States.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC or related field required.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands‑on experience in HVAC field service, maintenance and repairs
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an HVAC service environment.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical components, refrigeration cycles, and safety protocols.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites across the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in HVAC technology, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Certification as an HVAC instructor or trainer from a recognized industry organization.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and service scheduling software.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement training curricula and technical documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily field service operations, ensuring timely and effective completion of HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair tasks.
- Develop, implement, and deliver comprehensive training programs for new hires and existing technicians to enhance technical skills and safety awareness.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement among field staff.
- Collaborate with management to optimize service routes, resource allocation, and customer communication strategies.
- Troubleshoot complex HVAC system issues in the field and provide expert guidance to technicians to resolve problems efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards during all service activities.
- Lead and conduct field training ride‑along, coaching employees in real‑time, reinforcing best practices, and evaluating performance to ensure quality, safety, and skill development on job sites.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, training sessions, and technician certifications.
- Act as a mentor and technical resource, fostering a positive and professional work environment.

The required skills enable the supervisor/trainer to effectively manage and support field technicians by applying deep technical knowledge of HVAC systems to diagnose and resolve complex issues. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for delivering impactful training sessions and fostering teamwork. Preferred skills such as proficiency with CMMS software enhance the ability to streamline operations and track technician performance.
