First-year technicians can expect average pay of $55,000. Pay increases quickly with each year of experience. Roto-Rooter provides an initial 12‑week paid sewer and drain service training, with continuing training available for those who want to learn the plumbing trade and pursue a journeyman plumber’s license.

• Provide solutions to sewer and drain problems.
• Diagnose problems, provide cost estimates, and close the sale.
• Unclog and clean sewers and drains using Roto-Rooter equipment and tools.
• Document estimates and invoices in writing and on a provided smartphone.
• Collect payment and move on to the next service call.

• A valid driver’s license.
• Effective communication skills.
• A mechanical aptitude is desirable, but prior experience is not necessary.
