Sheet Metal Mechanic - Custom Homes

Sobieski Custom Homes is hiring a full‑time Sheet Metal Mechanic for our Custom Homes Division. The position is scheduled for 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM with overtime expected during peak periods. The mechanic will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of residential sheet metal systems and HVAC ductwork on custom home projects. Strong attention to detail, quality workmanship and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and HVAC layouts are essential.

Independent work is required, with coordination among supervisors, installers and other trades to ensure safe, efficient completion of projects.

• Fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal systems for custom homes, including HVAC ductwork.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Work independently while coordinating with supervisors, installers and other trades.
• Maintain safety, quality, and adherence to project specifications.

• High School Diploma or GED minimum.
• Graduation from a vocational school and/or apprenticeship preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of residential and/or commercial HVAC or sheet metal experience.
• Journeyman License highly preferred.
• OSHA certification favorable.
• Knowledge of residential and/or commercial HVAC duct systems and sheet metal installation technique.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, measuring tools and fabrication equipment.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, ability to pass background check and drug screen.
