Plumber

Overview

Perform construction and rehabilitation of fixed plant and facilities; specifically Install, repair and maintain all plumbing and HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) equipment.

• Perform construction and rehabilitation of facilities.
• Assist in plumbing installations and maintenance of all pumping station facilities, safety showers, and eye-wash equipment.
• Drain, waste and vent water distribution throughout Artesian’s facilities.
• Assist in the installation and maintenance of all natural gas lines, air lines, plumbing fixtures, and fuel lines (gas and diesel).
• Perform all HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) maintenance at pumping stations and other company-owned facilities.
• Perform roof-top inspections of HVACR equipment, ensuring that our outside contractor is performing to our expectations.
• Ensure that all facilities are properly ventilated, installing new ductwork and/or exhaust fans were necessary, including maintenance of old duct work.
• Perform maintenance on ice machines.
• Perform all maintenance of company-owned buildings such as roofing, concrete, brickwork, welding, machine maintenance, excavating, painting, property survey and clearing of right-of-ways.
• Operate heavy equipment as required.
• Perform other maintenance as required by Supervisor.
• Respond to emergencies as needed.
• Perform any and all other appropriate functions as required.

Must possess valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DOT certification. Must possess ability to operate maintenance equipment. Must have or be able to obtain journeyman plumbing license and ability to operate maintenance equipment.

Required physical activities include, but are not limited to, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting and flexing to perform maintenance of buildings and grounds. Visual acuity is required for painting and other maintenance functions. Requires the ability to learn related steps, processes, or elementary methods.

Requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Position requires exposure to outside environmental conditions such as extreme heat and cold along with hazards such as noise, vibration, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases and oils. Sometimes requires the use of a respirator or other breathing apparatus.
