Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a reliable Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facility systems. The Maintenance Mechanic will ensure machines run safely and efficiently, minimize downtime through timely diagnostics and corrective actions, and support continuous improvement while following GMP and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery, conveyors, pumps, motors and auxiliary equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Inspect mechanical and electrical systems to identify wear, defects or safety hazards and take corrective actions.
• Diagnose equipment faults using established diagnostics techniques and troubleshoot issues to determine root cause.
• Perform repairs and component replacements, including alignment, bearing changes, belt and chain adjustments, and hydraulic/pneumatic repairs.
• Use power tools, hand tools and diagnostic instruments safely and effectively to complete maintenance tasks.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs, documenting actions taken and parts used.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and shift logs in accordance with company systems.
• Support planned shutdowns and equipment changeovers, including disassembly, rebuild and reassembly tasks.
• Follow GMP processes, lockout/tagout procedures, and all safety policies to maintain a compliant work environment.
• Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory, recommend parts and improvements, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience working as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role, with demonstrated Preventive Maintenance expertise.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience on mechanical systems, equipment maintenance and maintenance repair.
• Proven troubleshooting and diagnostics skills to isolate and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
• Skilled in the use of power tools, hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Experience performing repairs, component replacement and preventative service on production equipment.
• Working knowledge of GMP processes, safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and maintenance manuals.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate, vocational training or relevant trade school education preferred.
• Physical ability to lift, climb and work in confined spaces; able to work rotating shifts or overtime as needed.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
