A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SENIOR FIRE ALARM TECHNICIAN

The successful Senior Fire Alarm Technician is a highly skilled and experienced professional responsible for leading the installation, programming, configuration, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA standards.

This role requires expert knowledge of fire alarm technologies, code compliance, and system integration, as well as the ability to effectively coordinate with clients, inspectors, and project teams. The Senior Technician also plays a key role in business development by helping to land bids and cultivate ongoing client relationships, ensuring a steady pipeline of projects and long-term partnerships.

Above all, the Senior Technician ensures that all systems meet regulatory requirements and operate reliably to protect life and property.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SENIOR FIRE ALARM TECHNICIAN
  • NICET Level II or III in Fire Alarm Systems highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of NFPA regulations, National Electric Code, and OSHA requirements and other applicable regulations
  • Prior experience in programming of low voltage systems required
  • Proven ability to install and program Fire Alarm Systems
  • Prior experience working with major fire alarm manufacturers(e.g., Honeywell Notifier Fire Alarm systems, Simplex, Gamewell FCI, Silent Knight, and Fire-Lite systems) is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards
  • Knowledge of Hardwired systems, Class A and Class B
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen with a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Five or more years of experience is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Do you have excellent problem-solving skills? Are you self-motivated and proactive? WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time fire alarm installation and service job typically works the morning shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on Monday through Friday with participation in an on-call rotation required.
