The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and play a key role in strengthening the accounting function during an exciting period of expansion.
Position Overview
The Senior Accountant supports the Assistant Financial Controller and contributes to the overall financial integrity of the business. This role requires strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze expenditures, manage recurring accounting processes, prepare reports, and advise leadership on improving efficiency and reducing financial waste. The position is hands‑on and offers excellent exposure to Oracle and other enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily general ledger activities and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and resolve inquiries related to banking activity.
- Support month‑end close, including preparing journal entries, accruals, account analysis, and reconciliations.
- Reconcile and analyze multiple general ledger accounts with proper supporting documentation.
- Manage indirect tax compliance across the U.S., Canada, and several European jurisdictions; prepare and file related tax returns.
- Conduct general cost accounting, comparing budgets to actual results; forecast, analyze, and reconcile cost structures (labor, processes, inventory).
- Recommend cost‑reduction and profit‑improvement opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and promote cost‑efficient practices across the accounting function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in manufacturing or distribution.
- Audit or public accounting experience a plus.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to collaborate, problem‑solve, and manage complexity.
- Experience with Oracle or another enterprise ERP system required.
Salary Range: $95,000-$110,000
