Our projects run 3–6 months (potential for extension) and focus on strengthening core accounting operations and process efficiency.
The ideal professional brings deep accounting expertise, strong business acumen, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Key Focus Areas- Lead and perform detailed reconciliations for general ledger accounts, including cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany, and accrual accounts.
- Prepare and post adjusting journal entries based on reconciliation findings to ensure financial accuracy.
- Manage and execute account reconciliations as part of the month-end close process, ensuring completeness and timeliness.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or unreconciled balances by collaborating with internal accounting teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Develop and implement standardized reconciliation procedures and templates to enhance consistency and efficiency.
- Ensure all reconciliations comply with GAAP and internal control standards.
- Maintain supporting documentation and schedules for reconciliations to ensure audit readiness.
- Reconcile lease-related accounts in accordance with ASC 842 and ensure accurate monthly entries.
- Identify areas for process improvement and support the automation of reconciliation tasks.
- 15+ years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience, including at least 5 years in a controller-level role
- Public company experience preferred; must have experience working in complex, multi-entity environments
- Strong technical ability across core accounting areas (GL, AR, close, and reporting)
- SAP proficiency strongly preferred; advanced Excel skills required
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Self-directed and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment
- Available for full-time project work (40+ hours / week)
- Must successfully complete firm background checks, including education, criminal, MVR, and credit verification
- Local candidates within commuting distance to NY, NJ, and the surrounding areas
