Client: Non Profit
Role: Junior Accountant
Payrate: $24/hr-$26/hr
Location: Newark, NJ
Fully Onsite 5 days a week (Temp-to-Perm potential based on performance)
About the OpportunityA stable and mission-driven organization is seeking a detail‑oriented Junior Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career accounting professional looking to gain hands‑on experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting within a structured, team‑oriented environment.
This position is fully on‑site in Newark, NJ and offers the potential to convert to a permanent role based on performance.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries
- Perform bank and account reconciliations
- Assist with month‑end close processes
- Support preparation of financial reports
- Maintain accuracy of the general ledger
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with accounting procedures
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
- 1-3+ years of accounting experience
- Hands‑on experience with journal entries and reconciliations
- Strong understanding of debits and credits
- Solid foundation in general ledger accounting
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and dependable
- Ability to work independently in a fully on‑site environment
