We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Property Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting operations and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month‑end close process, and collaborating cross‑functionally with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations- Manage daily accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including billing, collections, invoice processing, and vendor payments
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely posting of all transactions
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and prepaid expenses
- Maintain general ledger accounts and perform monthly account analysis
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Prepare annual vendor 1099s in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Complete CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations for assigned properties
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules
- Participate in the annual budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis
- Support property audits and assist with tax return preparation
- Partner with property management, finance, and leadership teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned by the Controller, CFO, or senior leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2–5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within commercial real estate or property management
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month‑end close processes
- Experience with CAM reconciliations and property accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI) preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
