Commercial Property Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Property Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting operations and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month‑end close process, and collaborating cross‑functionally with internal stakeholders.

• Manage daily accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including billing, collections, invoice processing, and vendor payments
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely posting of all transactions

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and prepaid expenses
• Maintain general ledger accounts and perform monthly account analysis
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data

• Prepare annual vendor 1099s in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Complete CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations for assigned properties
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules

• Participate in the annual budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis
• Support property audits and assist with tax return preparation
• Partner with property management, finance, and leadership teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned by the Controller, CFO, or senior leadership

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2–5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within commercial real estate or property management
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month‑end close processes
• Experience with CAM reconciliations and property accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI) preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
