The Director of Client Accounting & Advisory Services will lead our outsourced accounting and bookkeeping practice, overseeing client accounting engagements while helping clients transform financial data into meaningful business insights.
The successful candidate will build and lead a team responsible for monthly accounting, financial reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, and operational support for a diverse portfolio of business clients.
This individual will serve as both an operational leader and trusted advisor, helping clients understand their numbers and make informed business decisions.
What You'll Do Practice Leadership- Lead the development and growth of the firm's CAAS practice
- Create scalable processes, workflows, and service offerings
- Establish best practices for client onboarding, monthly close, reporting, and advisory services
- Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client relationships
- Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic growth initiatives
- Serve as the primary advisor for a portfolio of business clients
- Conduct monthly and quarterly financial review meetings
- Analyze financial statements and key performance indicators
- Provide actionable recommendations related to profitability, cash flow, and operational efficiency
- Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Oversee bookkeeping and accounting functions for multiple clients
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Review reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting
- Coordinate year-end reporting and tax support with the firm's tax department
- Champion cloud-based accounting technologies
- Lead implementation and optimization of Quick Books Online and related applications
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools that provide meaningful client insights
- Help shape the firm's technology strategy within the advisory practice
- Recruit, mentor, and develop accounting professionals
- Establish performance standards and accountability measures

- CPA preferred but not required
- 7+ years of accounting experience
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Significant experience managing bookkeeping and outsourced accounting engagements
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Experience managing and developing staff
- Expertise in Quick Books Online and cloud-based accounting technologies
- Strong analytical, communication, and client relationship skills
- Experience providing advisory, controller, or outsourced CFO services is highly desirable
