The Opportunity:
The Fund Accounting Manager is a key role within Leverage Companies’ finance team, responsible for the accounting and reporting of financial information of the Company’s debt fund.
You will be responsible for everything accounting-related for the debt fund, ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded, all stakeholders/investors are provided up-to-date reports, and to ensure compliance in operating the fund.
What you will do:
- Lead and manage the Fund Accountant as the team grows.
- Reconcile, review, and approve all accounting entries related to the debt fund.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting close process; generate and distribute the financial statement package.
- Review and deliver the management fees and investor waterfall calculations, ensuring all provisions of the fund agreement are followed.
- Analyze agreements/side letters to ensure the fund is operating according to the agreements.
- Oversee the calculation and distribution of investor capital calls and distribution notices.
- Monitor the liquidity of the fund, including preparing weekly cash balance reports and owning the data entries surrounding ACH and wires.
- Review and approve fund level expenses.
- Ensure all requests for information from investors and other stakeholders are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain the investor portal.
- Create, document, and execute SOPs for all financial matters surrounding the debt fun; institutionalize the knowledge base across the organization.
Private Lending — Brick City Capital
- Support fund accounting operations for TLC Opportunity Debt Fund: period closes, investor capital tracking, distributions, and fund-level expense management
- Assist with revenue and expense reconciliation across the lending division — tying actuals across systems and vendor data sources
- Maintain accurate multi-entity Quick Books records supporting the lending operation, fund management entity, and related structures
- Support intercompany accounting across the three lending entities, ensuring proper classification and period attribution
Location: Newark, NJ — On site
Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000/year (Exempt/Salary)
What we are looking for:
- 3–5 years of accounting experience — private lending, real estate, private equity, or fund accounting strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and multi-entity accounting structures
- Proficiency in Quick Books — not just data entry, but a genuine understanding of COA design, class-based tracking, and entity structure
- Comfort working across data exports, reconciliations, and multi-source financial tieouts
- Tech-forward mindset: you see broken processes and you want to fix them, not work around them
- Proficiency in Ramp or equivalent modern AP platform — we use Ramp for AP, expense management, and memo coding, and we actively adopt new features as they roll out
- Active and comfortable user of AI tools in your day‑to‑day finance workflow — drafting, research, reconciliation support, process thinking. This is how we work, not an add‑on
- Ability to get into the details of a complex business quickly, ask the right questions, and operate with minimal hand‑holding
