Key Responsibilities:- Manage the registration and renewal of sales tax permits and licenses across applicable jurisdictions.
- Prepare, file, and coordinate payment of property tax filings for multiple entities and locations.
- Maintain accurate and current property information for company locations.
- Open and close property tax accounts as locations are added, changed, or closed to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Assist with property tax and sales & use tax audits, including gathering data and preparing supporting documentation.
- Research and resolve federal, state, and local tax notices and compliance issues.
- Partner with third‑party tax providers to gather, upload, review, and reconcile sales and use tax data and filings.
- Obtain, renew, distribute, and track business licenses and certificates across multiple jurisdictions.
- Monitor licensing deadlines and requirements to ensure all locations remain compliant.
- Obtain and maintain resale and tax exemption certificates for qualifying entities.
- Assist with additional state and local tax projects and initiatives as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 1-3 years of experience in sales & use tax, property tax, business licensing, or a related tax/accounting function preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and advanced formulas.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys detail-oriented work, problem solving, and managing multiple moving pieces while gaining broad exposure to state and local tax compliance.
