Overview
Rutgers University - Newark, an urban public research anchor institution, is seeking a Part‑Time Billing Clerk. The role involves accurate and timely billing, invoicing, and payment processing. Supporting the Business Office and The Senior Program Coordinator, the clerk ensures student accounts are billed correctly, records are maintained accurately, and billing discrepancies are resolved efficiently.
Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and process invoices and billing statements.
- Verify billing data for accuracy and completeness.
- Enter billing information into the accounting system, noting student account dates and invoice details.
- Respond to internal and external billing inquiries.
- Maintain organized and confidential billing records.
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Support month‑end or periodic reposting as assigned.
- Perform other administrative duties as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent, and/or up to 4 years of relevant office, clerical, bookkeeping, library assistant, or related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.
$18 to $20 per hour
