Job Description:

Together We Innovate. Together We Change.
Protect Every Dollar of Trade Spend—And Strengthen Trust Across Our Promotions Ecosystem

Are you passionate about turning complex trade promotion data into clear decisions that protect the business and strengthen partner relationships? Altria Group Distribution Company is seeking a Trade Payment Integrity Manager to help safeguard the integrity of promotional payments in a CPG environment by detecting irregularities, validating claims, and strengthening controls across trade promotions.

This role sits at the center of trade spend governance—combining analytics, reconciliation expertise, and cross-functional leadership to ensure payments to retail partners are accurate, compliant, and aligned with agreed-upon terms. You’ll bring structure and transparency to the end-to-end integrity process, help recover value when issues arise, and drive continuous improvement in how we prevent future leakage.

What you will be doing:
  • Detect anomalies and potential fraud by monitoring and analyzing promotion and sales data to identify unusual patterns, outliers, or inconsistencies.
  • Validate and reconcile trade promotion claims against contracts, pricing, and expected outcomes to ensure accurate and compliant payments to trade partners.
  • Lead investigations and issue resolution by triaging discrepancies, identifying root causes, and partnering with Sales, Finance, Legal, IT, and other stakeholders to correct errors and recover funds where appropriate.
  • Design and strengthen financial controls by building standardized processes for trade spend auditing and promotional payment verification.
  • Deliver clear, actionable reporting for senior leadership on integrity metrics, trends, root causes, and risk mitigation recommendations.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on trade promotion policies, integrity standards, and a roadmap of improvements that increase transparency and accountability.
  • Maintain audit‑ready documentation of findings, decisions, and actions—ensuring strong audit trails and ease of compliance review.
  • Support external partner conversations when needed by communicating review outcomes, explaining adjustments, and answering questions related to account findings.
What we want you to have:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MSA) (experience may substitute)
Experience:
  • 5+ years of work experience in Trade Promotions
  • 2+ years of work experience in Sales Finance / Revenue Growth Management (RGM)
  • 2+ years of work experience in Financial Controls (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience reconciling promotional or financial claims within SAP/ERP environments
  • Familiarity with trade promotion management (TPM) processes from creation through settlement/reconciliation
  • Experience building dashboards and operational insights using Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Exposure to pattern recognition tooling and/or analytics approaches used for fraud detection and prevention
Skills:
  • Trade spend reconciliation and claims validation
  • Advanced data analysis (Excel; SQL and/or Python strongly valued)
  • Risk assessment and prioritization of high-impact integrity issues
  • Audit and control design
    , including standardization and governance
  • Clear, confident stakeholder communication
—with the ability to explain complex findings simply
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration and influence without authority
  • Documentation discipline and comfort operating in audit‑ready environments
