Summary

The Director, Market Access Strategy – Oncology (Pumitamig) defines and drives Global Market Access (GMAx) strategy, including global pricing strategy and governance, for one or more therapeutic areas targeted by Pumitamig across late-stage development, launch preparation, and lifecycle planning. Integrates payer, pricing, and evidence considerations into asset- and portfolio-level decisions and provides strategic market access input to Development and Commercial Strategy teams.

Works across functions and regions and, in the alliance context, collaborates with BioNTech partners and joint Pricing and Access Working Group.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development and execution of integrated Global Market Access and Pricing strategy (price corridors, access archetypes, pricing assumptions), including pricing governance and enabling first worldwide price negotiations.
  • Serve as Global Market Access lead to the Global Product Team; embed payer perspectives into development and commercial strategies; optimize registrational trial designs via governance forums (e.g., DEX) and ensure evidence plans meet payer/HTA needs.
  • Collaborate with Pricing, HEOR, and regional/local access teams to assess opportunities balancing speed to access, value sustainability, pricing discipline, and franchise considerations.
  • Lead Global Market Access Core Value Team and Value Strategy Team for assigned assets/indications.
  • Partner with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Business Insights & Analytics, and regional teams to monitor external environment and adapt strategy across the asset lifecycle.
  • Lead and influence in matrixed, alliance-based environment to drive aligned, consistent Global Market Access execution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD, MSc, MBA) preferred.
  • Deep understanding of oncology global market access (pricing, reimbursement, HEOR) and ability to advance payer value propositions.
  • 8+ years in market access, pricing, HEOR, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of drug development/commercialization; ability to evaluate clinical trial designs/endpoints/evidence implications; launch/late-stage experience strongly preferred.
  • Business/financial acumen; ability to synthesize perspectives and provide pragmatic recommendations.
  • Proven ability to articulate global access strategy to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience leading and influencing cross-functional, matrixed teams.
  • Experience in international/multi-cultural and alliance/partnership environments preferred.
  • Strong prioritization/execution; comfortable with ambiguity and policy/competitive changes.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
