Business Analyst — Fixed Income Asset Management | Newark, NJ (Hybrid) | 2–3 Days Onsite/Week | 3–10 Years Experience
About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with a strong background in Fixed Income Asset Management to join our growing team at a leading financial firm in Newark, NJ. In this role, you will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders — including portfolio managers, analysts, and quants — and the technology team, translating complex business needs into actionable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with portfolio managers, analysts, and other stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements
- Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for the development team
- Support the implementation of fixed income front office systems and tools, ensuring alignment with business needs
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and verify that solutions meet business expectations
- Develop and maintain project documentation including functional specifications, use cases, and process flows
- Partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to manage timelines and deliverables, ensuring objectives are met on time and within scope
Experience: 3–10 years as a Business Analyst within financial services, with a focus on fixed income asset management

- Strong understanding of fixed income products: bonds, derivatives, and related instruments
- Python proficiency for prototyping and analysis, including AI-assisted development
- Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Effective collaborator across both technical and business stakeholder teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools
Education: Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or a related field. CFA, FRM, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with portfolio management systems such as Aladdin or similar platforms
- Familiarity with data management and reporting tools in an asset management context
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting fixed income asset management
