Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking a Category Insights Manager.

The Category Insights Manager is responsible for delivering high-impact business insights and analytics to drive growth across Kroger and Target. This role serves as the primary expert in category, shopper, and consumer insights, with accountability for translating data into actionable strategies that improve overall business performance across both customers.

This individual will own end-to-end category insights support, partnering closely with sales leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, diagnose business challenges, and develop insight-led recommendations that influence both internal and customer decision-making. The role plays a critical part in customer engagements, category reviews, and planning processes, while maintaining a holistic view across categories and the flexibility to support evolving business priorities.

Within this scope, the role will serve as the category advisor for Kroger’s vegetable category, acting as a trusted, objective partner to the customer. This includes deeper strategic engagement with Kroger stakeholders, including direct collaboration with the category buyer to influence category strategy, assortment decisions, and overall performance. The role will also serve as the dedicated expert on 84.51° data (including Stratum and Market
6), leveraging these tools to deliver advanced shopper and category insights in support of both customer-facing initiatives and internal business needs.

Across both customers, the Category Insights Manager is expected to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights, while proactively identifying opportunities to improve ways of working and enhance overall team effectiveness.

Accountabilities
  • Own end-to-end category insights support for Kroger and Target, developing and executing insight-led strategies across the portfolio to deliver against sales and profit objectives.
  • Serve as the category advisor for Kroger’s vegetable category, leading deep analytical and strategic engagement with the customer, including direct collaboration with the category buyer, advanced diagnostics, and ownership of assortment and space optimization to influence category strategy and performance.
  • Develop and deliver insights, analyses, and category reviews that assess performance, identify opportunities, and translate into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Leverage a range of data sources—including syndicated, retailer loyalty, and internal data—and utilize 84.51° (Stratum and Market
    6) to generate actionable shopper and business insights for both customer-facing work and internal initiatives.
  • Design, maintain, and continuously optimize reporting and analytics while measuring and evaluating the impact of key initiatives, incorporating learnings to refine strategies and improve business outcomes.
  • Partner with sales leadership to identify and activate growth opportunities across innovation, assortment, shelving, pricing, and promotion.
  • Support key business processes including category reviews, Joint Business Planning (JBP), and ad hoc analyses; actively partner with Sales and the Category Insights team, with travel as needed to support customer engagement and business priorities.
