Construction Superintendent

Located near our office in Somerset, New Jersey. Project site:
Lawrence, NJ.

Responsibilities
  • Lead construction site activities, oversight of trades, and manage field operations.
  • Ensure subcontractor and vendor work is completed safely, in compliance with contract, and on time.
  • Collect and assemble on‑site testing and inspection reports; develop Construction Completion Records for close‑out documentation.
  • Make periodic site inspections and evaluations and report the results.
  • Participate in pre‑bid walk‑throughs and de‑scope meetings; support development and maintenance of preconstruction, construction, and close‑out execution plans and schedules.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the project budget for assigned trades, identify exceptions, and prepare change control documentation, including financial.
  • Ensure all submittals meet requirements and are distributed, reviewed, and stored.
  • Conduct constructability reviews, evaluate vendor and subcontractor invoices, and evaluate payment requests against actual performance.
  • Provide daily site condition reports, review job safety analysis documentation, and interact with clients regularly.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a superintendent role working with various trades on non‑residential construction projects.
  • Proven experience supervising construction activities on pharmaceutical projects, including clean rooms and laboratories.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, or equivalent technical degree.
  • Experience in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing trades.
  • Experience on MEP pharmaceutical facilities.
Safety
  • Position requires proximity to assigned client project sites.
  • Possible overnight travel or extended stay near client location.
  • Must adhere to stated safety rules.
  • IPS will not sponsor employment visas for this position.
