Job Description A leading automotive company is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee a major environmental and civil infrastructure project at its Newark, NJ port operations facility. This individual will serve as the owner's on-site representative, managing contractor performance, project schedules, safety compliance, quality, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
The project focuses on environmental sustainability initiatives, including the installation of above-ground fuel lines and oil/water separator systems designed to prevent contaminated runoff and hazardous materials from reaching surrounding waterways. The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for daily field oversight, coordination with contractors, engineers, and safety personnel, and ensuring construction activities are executed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications.
This role requires a hands-on construction professional with strong civil construction experience, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to effectively communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders. The selected candidate will work closely with project leadership while maintaining responsibility for contractor management, safety audits, quality assurance, documentation, and environmental compliance throughout the duration of the project.
